How many hair do we lose in a day?

The number of hair we lose in a day varies greatly depending on many factors, not least the seasons and the total number of bulbs we have, ranging from person to person between 80 thousand and 150 thousand.

Up to a certain extent, hair shedding is an absolutely normal event in the life cycle of the hair, and a healthy step in the continuous process of hair renewal. In general, an average daily fall between 40 and 120 hairs is considered physiological.

For a medium-sized mane, consisting of about 100 thousand individual strands, the daily rate of physiological shedding is about 1 in 1,000 hairs at most.

Factors such as health problems and stress, as well as some medications, can accelerate or intensify hair loss. In these cases the hair loss will peak temporarily and subside within a few weeks - or months at most - after the triggering factor is back to normal.
