Nails and hair: the same health
One of the main components of nails, hair and hair is keratin, a protein consisting of long chains of amino acids which ensures the robustness of the hair and nails.
A lack of keratin means brittle and fragile hair, nails that break or crumble. To strengthen your hair you can apply specific keratin hair products or introduce the keratin in your diet: in this way they will benefit not only the hair, but also your nails! In pharmacy or in drugstore there is plenty of choice for keratin hair and nails supplements, but simply in the kitchen you can add to your diet foods rich in keratin or more precisely (because the keratin is not contained in the food itself) foods rich in substances that help the body to produce keratin:
· among the vegetables there are broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, onions, rich in vitamins C and B7;
· sulfur-rich foods, like beans and eggs, provide rich in sulfur amino acids which in turn make up the bonds of keratin;
· in general, all protein foods (meat, eggs, milk and dairy products) contribute to the production of keratin in the body.
